The Medical Practice of Dr. David B. Wheat, MD
Clinton Family Care - 601.924.1877
Dr. Wheat is a pilot, and we do first, second, and third class flight physicals as well as Basic Meds. We schedule them every day as appointments permit. They take about 30-45 minutes provided you do your portion of the form online. Here’s the easiest way:
The FAA MedXPress system allows anyone requesting an FAA Medical Clearance or Medical Certificate to electronically complete an application. Information entered into MedXPress is available to your FAA-designated Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) for review at the time of your medical examination.
NOTE: A medical examination by an AME is required to complete the medical clearance/certification process.
- Go to FAA MedXPress
- Create an account or login to your existing account
- Fill out your portion (8500 form) once you enter the site
- You will get a submitter number sent to your email address **please do this in plenty of time to receive your number as sometimes it may take up to 24 hours to get it. Bring the submitter/confirmation number with you to the office.
If you have medical issues or need to have a consult prior to your actual FAA exam, please do not hesitate to set up a consult first. Our office staff is always happy to answer any questions you might have.

Step 4) page 3 attachment: you should receive the page that says account request result. you should check your email often until you receive your temporary password. once you receive it, log on again using your email and your temporary password. follow the instructions they give you, fill out your portion of the flight form, submit it, and they will send you a submitter number. bring this number with you to your visit. please print the summary after you complete and bring with you to your physical.
